1 Corinthians 2:14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. (NIV)

Sadly, most of the people you meet every day are already dead. They just don’t know it. When you are angered by their sin, and you want to lash out at them you are speaking a language they cannot hear and would not understand if they could. In this matter of “judging” other people being aware and shying away from the sinfulness of other people is not judging. However, if the Holy Spirit prompts you to speak, then you must address with love the great need a person has for a real Savior. Why? God has determined that they are at a crossroads of decision.
Now, those who are of the preaching type are used to a scattergun approach speaking (mostly to other Christians) on the off-chance that some will hear and respond. Great evangelists of the past, Wesley, Whitfield, Finney, Sunday, Graham and others approached things through a deep covering of prayer and that mostly for the hearts and minds of the people to whom they would speak.
Most of us, however, need an even deeper, more precisely targeted prayer that targets those upon whom God’s light has been revealed. Like a hunter, we must wait for the perfect moment to present our Lord Jesus to a lost person.
