Psalm 69:29 But I am afflicted and in pain; May Your salvation, O God, set me securely on high.

This Psalm of David powerfully speaks to me on this particular day. I am afflicted with a type of pain that comes frequently these days. Do you know painful days? Days when it seems even the simplest movements are stopped in mid-beat because of your pain? The Psalmist’s solution is to bear down in faith, to praise God in the midst and to trust in his deliverance from the pain. Take care, use every precaution, but do not despair. The Lord knows and understands your pain perhaps better than any other. Sympathy only goes so far and does not cure. Living for a sympathetic response from someone else is like a drug you can never get enough of. Faith in Jesus and his understanding might alleviate the need for whining and trying to get sympathy from someone else which in the long run accomplishes nothing.
