John 6:27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

In a wonderful song by a young group called simply Believe the apostles creed, not for the first time was set to music. For many it came as a shock to know that the simple truth of the verse above is the doorway to a saved and eternal life. Examining the statement further to believe “the one he has sent” means to believe what He has said, to believe in what He was doing, and to do the same things out of a changed character.

Jesus has come to transform our thinking. To shift the focus from ourselves and our desires to those of His Father in living out the love He has for us. How, you may ask does this transformation take place? The answer is found in the verse above. BELIEVE. (See Proverbs 23:7a Romans 12:2-3)
