John 8:42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word.

44You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

This “cacophony of liars” as I have entitled this old picture to me speaks of the politics and international relations in the world today. In brief, there is no hope, no good, no peace, no progress that can come through the infernal and constant blathering of politicians who are only interested in feathering their own nests at the expense of anyone who opposes them. The fact that there is instantaneous public scrutiny of everything uttered thanks to our “marvelous” technology does not further the honest public discussion of any issue. Rather, it is obscured by everything from camera angles to punditry, to editorialism by inclusion or exclusion from the public eye.

The plain simple truth in the verses above is more than the world can bear. Can you for just a moment stop and take an honest (if you know what that means) look at the world around you and then look at Christ, peeling away all of the negative imagery and lies you have heard and the sinful human interpretations inflicted upon Him down through the centuries and listen with your heart to what He really said so many years ago?

More to come…
