Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against [a]flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Yes Virginia there are demons and devils and all manner of enemies of Jesus the Messiah. Sorry if you do not subscribe. My only comment to you is get over yourself. Regardless of what your old college professor might have said (and he or she probably is one) there are demons in this world. If you believe in Jesus Christ and the fall of man as depicted in Scripture, and that He is the epitome of objective truth, then you must necessarily believe in the existence and  warfare Heaven wages against the “spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

The fact that you cannot perceive them as we have been falsely led to believe does in no way negate their existence. Human hosts while quite obvious are more to be pitied for their gullibility and or willingness to do the bidding of those very forces of which I speak. Jesus was very straightforward in the presence of such. He called them out.

The Romans in their supposed sophistication were as skeptical of the demonic as are the arrogant and self-proclaimed intelligentsia in our day. And yet in a very short (but horrible) span of years the Roman empire was turned on its head by a general who for whatever reason accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
