Ephesians 6: 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “in for a penny, in for a pound”? This obviously refers to British currency, albeit of another time. What it means very simply is that if you accept one idea, you are engaged with everything that grows out of or is foundational to that idea.

In the case of Jesus our Christ if we engaged in the happy, easy-going part of his ethos then we are necessarily engaged in His world view and His understanding of just exactly what is happening around us and to us. That he has stated over and over again that we are engaged in a kind of warfare is completely counter-intuitive to what we think it should be and that our weapons which inflict the most damage to the enemy are 1, our prayers, 2, our testimony, 3, our love for those who are his enemies either passively or actively, and finally our willingness to lay down our lives for the glory of His kingdom…more to come
