Matthew 10:26 “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

The worst they can do is kill you. Wait! Kill me? Yes, I mean kill you. As far as this life, which admittedly is all any of us really know, it may be taken from us at any time. Taken in the cause of Christ or in an accident, or in some other gruesome way that we can but imagine our lives are always only a heartbeat away from ending. So, why on earth would we risk them proclaiming the “good news” of an illegitimate Jewish carpenter who managed only to get himself executed by the occupying Romans in Palestine?
One fact that the world would love to deny, ignore, or otherwise refuse to accept. This one man, Jesus walked out of the tomb on the third day just as He said. His great love began a movement that has transformed this sad world for the better, and even though many of His followers have gone astray into their own twisted paths, the fact of Jesus remains, something the world cannot deny.
Jesus is the embodiment of truth. Therefore, these words from Him to his disciples tell a truth which should be a cautionary reminder to all that this puny life we live right now is not a patch to the eternity of life with Jesus. Take heart. Do not be discouraged.
