2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (English Standard Version)17 Now the Lord] is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding (reflecting) the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Did you ever notice when some people walk into a room that the whole atmosphere in the room changes? If you’ve been in the so called adult world any time within the last forty years you’ve probably taken some sort of “personality inventory” or “temperament analysis” test. They were vey popular in the evangelical Church in the 80’s and 90’s. Trouble is they were frequently misconstrued, over or under analyzed, and worse could become “self-fulfilling” exercises that altered the course of peoples lives.

Perhaps the hardest thing of all to come to grips with is that there are some people for whom joy is as elusive as unicorns. Perhaps the idea of “just made that way” over simplifies the “pigeonhole” into which we place one another. We cannot know, even after long association just exactly what makes one another tick or why. Experience should teach us that extending grace frequently means more than just sharing about Jesus. It also means being like Jesus even when it’s hard.

So rejoice, Your God,

Your Father and your friend

Is the Lord your God

Whose reign will never end

I rejoice -For my God reigns.
