James 4: 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.

So many people today are lingering on the door step of true salvation undecided whether or not to enter in. What will it cost? How long can I wait? What happens if I don’t understand? It all seems so farfetched. Somebody tell me what to do! Wait! I don’t trust anybody.

After so many outright failures of the highest leaders of the church it is little wonder that so many are lingering in doubt on that doorstep. Tragically, far too many have walked away and gone off seeking soul satisfaction in other faith disciplines that all demand some sort of treadmill like performance factor.

Our own pig headedness is most often to blame when the reality of Christ’s perfect life is placed before us as the ideal of Heaven. Let me state categorically that this is a standard far too high for anyone on earth to meet. Do not make idols of preachers, denominations, or translations of the scriptures.

More to come…

Coming soon, The Whitney Chronicles- A prequel Found in the Rubble

Josiah Whitney is investigating a collapsed parking structure where three people have died. His first wife Sarah is dying with cancer, and he is being pursued and threatened by a crooked contractor. It all becomes too much to bear.
