Malachi 3:1 “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.

But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, (NIV)

There is a lot to be said for being constantly aware of the social and political situation all around you, but in the final analysis it all seems to be about this one word, DESIRE. “I have one deep supreme desire, that I may be like Jesus. To this I fervently aspire, that I may be like Jesus”. *

It is that simple. Once understood and committed to a marvelous transformation begins to take place in us. Every day we may be brought up against one type of challenge or another but, know this, Jesus has already come into the temple and the refining process is ongoing. Every day will become easier to live as Christ, He asks little of us, only everything. Can we learn to love as He loved?
