Revelation 6:6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

I think it’s quite interesting that immediately following the real or imagined quarantining of covid-19 we have, suddenly, a different kind of limiting factor coming into our lives. The specter of inflation while always looming in the sort of tug of war experienced among economies extant in the world today has been exacerbated by the wars and other political and social movements of the past few years.
While I am frustrated somewhat by the fact that things are more expensive and harder to get, for some, the crisis rises to terrifying proportions threatening health, welfare and potentially lives. (vis. the baby formula shortage) While we may understand the causation of such events and can easily place blame or find a scapegoat, I wonder if we are seeing the so called “Revelation playbook” in its first act.
Regardless, this is a time for all those who follow Jesus to be awake, ready, willing to love and sacrifice so that others may know the grace of God through our hands, hearts, and our resources.
More to come
