2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness (NIV)

Good news! Your ship has come in, There is no more need o stand on the shore looking for your fulfillment. In the highlight scripture for today the important thing to notice is the fact that the proposition is formed in the past tense.  Further reading of the Gospel story will confirm through Jesus own words from the cross. “It is finished” (John 19:30) Also in the last words of Revelation  22: 18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

So what you ask? Here’s what. You never have to “stand alone on the shoreline looking for something you will never see. Everything you need “for life”, that is living in this world, and “for Godliness”, that is the ability to discern which of the many options which lay before you are pleasing or displeasing to God.

Rejoice! And be glad!
