Ephesians 6: 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

I love watching cop shows on television. I can well remember “back in the day” when a friend of mine asked me to work with him representing the company that first came out with the Kevlar bullet proof vests to the various law enforcement agencies in our area.. As the police scramble from their cars donning the protective vests they begin the strange ballet of walking with drawn firearms through a building or piece of property. Not surprisingly we are guided through the scriptures to emulate to a small degree the same sort of caution as we walk through the world. We never know just exactly what we are going to encounter, but with the truth about our waist and the righteousness of God through the grace of Jesus Christ we are likely to survive and overcome in nearly every situation.
The simple fact of the matter is that the idea is not new. See Isaiah 59:17. This was and is God’s plan for his people. The trouble today seems to be that so many Christians are all dressed up, but they never go out.
