Romans 12:12(NIV) Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

We wait in hope for the Lord
He is our help and our shield
In him our hearts rejoice
For we trust in his holy name (See also Psalm 33:20)

Hannah McConnell © 2018 Vineyard Songs (UK/Eire) (Admin. by Integrity Music)

Waiting patiently is not something I am very good at. Far too often I have ended up making rash decisions due mostly to my own impatience. How about you? There are moments however, and those increasing the longer I walk and wait for Him, when I am overwhelmed with a joyous peace and even though I am always feeling a “thumb in my back” to get things done. I find myself able to be at a greater peace in those circumstances than I ever thought possible. It is to the honor and glory of God that I claim this joy through the working of His Holy Spirit.

In the run up to Pentecost, the Jewish feast of the “firstfruits”, that is the crop spring wheat, the date the first disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, as the waited in the upper room in Jerusalem it is widely conceded that this was the inauguration of the Church which Jesus referred to in Matthew 16:18. Jesus is coming “soon and very soon.”
