Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold, as for the proud one,
His soul is not right within him;
But the righteous will live by his faith.
The prophet lived in a time of famine, oppression, and spiritual compromise. Sound familiar? It may startle some that this bit of wisdom found in the Old Testament became the very bedrock of Paul’s ministry throughout the Roman empire centuries later. (See Romans 3:21-16, 1:17 etc.) This, called then, and so also now, for a sort of vision to see beyond the here and now to look at the spiritual battle going on everywhere for the heart and soul of every human creature. (See Ephesians 6) The illustration above is a very simplified example of how easy it can be to become a part of the solution to the world’s misery. Simply help one another to get a little further down the road. For Christian folk the journey’s destination is the same, the road traveled may be very different. Grace. Through faith!
