Exodus 12: 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

While seemingly grotesque in the zeal of many songwriters and poets down through the years the understanding of the necessity of a blood sacrifice is essential to the life of the modern-day Christian. The feast of the Passover was a celebration of the fact that the means of salvation for the Jews in Egypt from the wrath of the Pharoah was the blood painted over the door posts and lintels of the Jewish houses was the sign to the angel of death that they were under God’s exclusive protection. A lamb had to die. Jesus is, was, and always will be the one- (John 1:29) John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Far too many so called Christian churches have espoused a type of historical ignorance on this point refusing to ever talk about the “blood of Jesus” because hey wrongly believed an a “kinder, gentler” understanding of the Christ. This blatant lie renders Jesus as little more significant than any of the other so -called messiah, such as Buddha, Shiva, Mohammed or leaders of any of the other lunatic religions extant in the world today.
The significant question is this. Has the blood of Jesus Christ been applied to the doorposts of your own life?
