Isaiah 53:6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (NIV)

No matter our theology, we are still the “sheep of his pasture” We will never achieve absolute “perfection” in this life. We may become perfect in the Greek sense of the word, that is to say “complete” as far as it goes, but there is always a higher plain to which we must ascend as we shed everything of this world in favor of the world to come. The Spirit of Jesus inhabits our souls and guides and teaches us and yes, even protects us as we continue to blunder through this sad weary world. His promise is true He will “never leave us or forsake us”. (Hebrews 13:5)
So many people wander around looking confused concerning their relationship with Jesus., but in reality, what they are doing is attempting to bargain with Him in order to settle for some lesser relationship with Him. Trust me. He is not interested in a “friends with benefits” kind of relationship with you.
