2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Corinthians 4:17

There are myriad ways in which the human creature suffers. It is our tendency to shrink from suffering whether physical, emotional, or what I will call mental/spiritual. Physical suffering while varying in degree is perhaps the most distracting. Emotional suffering often drives us to extremes of behavior. Mental/spiritual suffering often sends us on quests both benign and bizarre seeking to fulfill whatever the ache in our mind or soul tells us to seek. It is well to remember before we head out on any of these quests or searches or try any of the many remedies hawked to us each and every day by media outlets the words of the Psalmist 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well. Perhaps this prayer to the great healer, our kind and compassionate Father might just avail us more than any other remedy we might come up with on our own.
