There is an old song sung famously by the sultry torch singer Peggy Lee. The song by Songwriters: Leiber Jerry, Stoller Mike, asks the question; “Is that all there is, is that all there is? If that’s all there is my friends, then let’s keep dancing…”

I’m sure the “rich young ruler” probably felt the same way.  The sort of ennui that develops by living without purpose or direction, or when our purpose is obscured by the oft times grinding repetitive nature of living in this world, providing for our daily needs can begin to cause us to question the nature of everything. “Where is all of this going?” Jesus gave the answer simply and clearly. “Let everything go and trust me.” In this case the impediment was the wealth the young man had garnered and now possessed. What is your impediment? What might be holding you back?
