Philippians 4: 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
If our perceptions of beauty are based upon our own standards then we are in trouble since everyone applies their own set of standards to what they perceive to be beautiful now on the surface that is not necessarily wrong. However, given some standard of beauty that transcends physical appearance we are left with a much different perception of what beauty really is. It is to this paradoxical inner beauty which Paul refers in his great comments in the book of Philippians. This inner beauty this inner Grace comes from heaven not from some hairstyle clothing choice or social attitude.
