Psalm 97:10 Hate evil, you who love the Lord, Who watches over the souls of His godly ones; He saves them from the hand of the wicked. (NASB)
Fans of Star trek will no doubt recall the missions which at some points in the stories were to “track gaseous anomalies”. That is essentially what the picture above shows. This photo, courtesy of NASA shows what has been named the Veil Nebula What is within these things is essentially unknown. This one above was never seen until modern science sent large “telescopes” such as the Hubbell into space.
The evil that emanates from the Human heart is just as difficult to see and comprehend. Does God hate the person from whom the evil flows? Has there been a subtle shift in his regard for humanity since the events of the life of Jesus? No. He remains the same. He sees the potential for redemption and salvation in every human creature ever born. Our response to evil in the world reflects more on our own capacity to emulate our blessed Savior. Look up the word “hate in any concordance. In the NASB translation the word appears 164 times. Read the scriptures and understand that while God hates evil, he loves people. If we could only get that through to our hearts the world would be transformed in ways we cannot even imagine.
