Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

As we prepare to relegate yet another year to the remembrances of history, I thought it appropriate to recall to mind the amazing complexities of God’s beautiful creation. Everywhere I look I see His handiwork. At the New Year many people begin, as I am, praying and hoping to find the discipline and devices to “re-make” themselves.
Perhaps you have allowed the exigencies of life to intrude and have fallen into habits that have eroded you overall health, or perhaps you have been injured and are not yet fully recovered. As I ponder the year ahead I would like to say, optimistically, that six months from now I will be a changed person. But, before I go there I think it would be best if I were to fall on my face in prayer, ask God to forgive my selfish nature where it has taken hold (for me that is diet and sloth) and then ask Him to energize me with a determination and will to do the needful things to change.
Looking for real change in the new year? Start with prayer!
