Ecclesiastes 7: 11 Wisdom is good with an inheritance,
an advantage to those who see the sun.
12 For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money,
and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.
13 Consider the work of God:
who can make straight what he has made crooked?

I don’t know why, but the holidays seem to aggravate and amplify negative emotions across the entire spectrum of the family. All year long, pent up anger and anxiety boil over into the most inopportune kind of behavior. At a time when we should be celebrating the things that bring us together we spend our times pointing fingers and accusing. The more visceral responses seem all to frequently to win out over the spiritual gift of self-control.  Of course this seems only natural in a culture given to self-indulgence as opposed to self-control.

Perhaps it would be better to look upon this season not as a time to reflect upon the sins of other people, rather as a time to be grateful for the birth of a child who saved the world. He was called Jesus, the Messiah. He came to die to pay the punishment for your sins. He lives again in power to imbue you with His Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!!
