Deuteronomy 18:15 (English Standard Version)
“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen—
Perhaps in a moment of consolation God impressed upon Moses the truth that Messiah would come. And this, some 1400 years before it would come to pass. I think he must have wondered art some points if it had all been worth the strife and worry of shepherding a group of unruly people through a wilderness with fear and danger on every side.
It was into this same world that a baby born “on the wrong side of the blanket” would come to transform the world. The fact that human creatures have messed up His simple message of love, forgiveness and His Lordship is the fault of the greedy, self-obsessed sin nature in all of us.
His Spirit transforms us little by little into the very image of Him who created us if we want and are willing to sacrifice even life itself for the joy of His fullness. (Psalm 16:11, Ephesians 3:19)
