Deuteronomy 30:4 (NKJV) If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you.

Often forgotten or set aside at this time of year is the idea that God is in the restoration business. He is busily working day and night to restore the heavenly imago dei, that is the image of God in which we are created. Sim has distorted that image and Jesus was born into this life to show us the way to full restoration in that original image.

This scripture from Deuteronomy speaks to the fledgling nation about to enter the so called “promised land”. Through the centuries a sort of spiritual drift pulled them away in a sort of “tug of war” between God’s righteous commandments and the impulses of their senses and sensibilities.

So, what does this have to do with a bunch of people wandering through a field? God will be gathering His people soon. From the ends of the earth, from every tribe and nation, people will hear his call. Even though beset by danger and opposition of every kind they will hear, and they will come to Him. Will you?
