Colossians 3:17 (New International Version)

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Very early in my walk with Jesus I was compelled due to meditation on this verse to re-evaluate my thinking about being a Christian. It’s very easy to “compartmentalize” faith and relegate the principles and commands of God to a conveniently accessed area of our life and to ignore faith the rest of the time. Through my meditations I came to the conclusion that all of scripture points to this crucial conclusion. All to Jesus has been the call of people concerned more about pleasing God than pleasing men down through the ages.

How about you? Do you set aside your faith when you walk out of the Church foyer?

The original language leaves no room for any kind of backhanded interpretation. “Whatever…” includes everything every aspect every action every attitude. That is consecration. God’s Spirit makes it all possible.
