I Kings 19:13
When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

One of the most fascinating stories from the Old Testament is the story of Elijah and his service before God. (1 Kings 17-19) He was blessed with the courage and devotion to follow his God whatever the cost. He was also human, subject to the same frailty as you and I. At one point her was so wearied from his service that he had to step away. Have you ever been there? So wearied by the constant demands and pressures that you had to just step away for awhile to recover some semblance of normalcy.
That’s Okay. God understands the need, after all we are His creation. However, there is a point in time when it’s time to take up once again the responsibilities for which God has set you apart. That’s right. I believe that God has created each one of us uniquely to serve Him in a very unique capacity, time, and place. So, I ask the same question. What are you doing here?
