Psalm 40:8 I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”

James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
Masters, virtuosos, will tell you good intentions are not enough. In order to attain to the kind of virtuosity that is the most highly prized takes commitment, discipline, and exhaustive effort. The life of Jesus demonstrated this commitment, discipline, and exhaustive effort even unto death. Did you really expect your journey into spiritual virtuosity to be any different? If as Paul contends we should be imitators of Jesus, our Christ (1 Thessalonians 1:6) then we must indeed not look for the “easy way” of so much that is modern Christianity. Jesus was an offense to the religious leaders of His day, He was an object of fear and scorn to the Roman occupiers, and a complete enigma to His disciples. The cross, willingly accepted put everything into the clear light of truth. Christianity that costs nothing is worthless. Are you ready?
