Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

When an African lion roars the sound is truly terrifying carrying over many miles. It is not anything like the anemic coughing of the MGM lion symbol at the beginning of their films. It pierces to the very core of people who have heard it and tells them the King is here. So shall it be at the last day when Jesus opens the book of life and we each stand before him to give an account of ourselves. I believe that He will speak, we will listen and either be ashamed and sorrowful, or full of rejoicing as we are ushered into the heavenly home prepared for us.

The question is, are you ready for that day? It could happen at any time. The qualifying factors that we can know are the translation of the Word of God “into all the world”, the predominating corruption and sinfulness of societies and cultures at large, the persecution of the saints, the slaughter of innocents, and the constant rise and fall of popular idols. Along with the total unsettledness of this globe whether attributable to climate change or shifting tectonic plates it would seem to me that perhaps more truly than at any other time we are approaching the end. Maranatha!
