1 Corinthians 2:14The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

It somehow pleases my sense of irony that most of the world considers what I fervently believe to be foolishness. In the traditions of the holiness churches it is largely believed that unless the Spirit of God is already at work on a person’s life they remain ignorant of the possibilities and hope found only in God’s abiding Spirit. I believe that some go seeking for enlightenment and take a long and sometimes tortured journey only to come back to the truth that was before them all the time. Others, seem to be blessed with Godly intervention in their lives (perhaps this coming at a time when destruction is imminent) and come to realize the greatest  invitation to become part of the holy mystery.

Even though we have often divided ourselves over such issues does it really matter how you got “there”. The important thing is that you are in Christ, which means you are in the Spirit, and that means the door is opened to you to know and be filled with all the fullness of God.
