Ephesians 6: 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
The best way for the devil to get to us is for us to “let down our guard”. If you’ve ever watched a boxing match, or a fencing match you will understand that someone us defeated as soon as they drop their guard. So too with spiritual concerns. We need to be “prayed up”, read up, busy serving and always “look(ing) to Jesus, the author and pioneer of our faith”.
When boxers train, they run and work out and spar, testing themselves at every step along the way. They study, not only their opponent, , but other champions as well. They eat properly, they rest at appointed times. Are you catching a theme here? You cannot coast into battle. You will be defeated.
Unfortunately far too many of us end up waging war against the wrong enemy.
