Psalm 143:3 The enemy has pursued my soul;
he has crushed my life to the ground.
He has made me dwell in darkness
like those long dead.
4 My spirit is faint within me;
my heart despairs.

Remember the movie Ground hog Day? The main character had to relive the same day over and over ad nauseum. David the king of Israel lamented that no matter what he did there was always some tragedy lurking just around the corner. Saul the king before David in his madness believed that David wanted to kill him. He lived in his paranoia right up until the end of his life. David might have gone down the same path except for the fact that he had an abiding love for and trust in God.
Sometimes it seems as though we keep living the same day over and over. Pain followed by more pain followed by loneliness and confusion. No other relationship, no human presence, no amount of toys and gadgets can take the place of a full on love relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ His firstborn Son.
