2 Peter 2:  then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of]dignitaries,  (Should read: glorified or glorious ones doxa Gr.)11 whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.

I hear an awful lot of complaining on, safely anonymous, social media about leaders and politicians, so called “influencers, and every other kind of social climbing wannabe coming from people who by and large feel disenfranchised and without a voice in the larger culture. There are a couple of things you need to remember if you find yourself in either group.

1,) God knows.

2.) God’s people are to be in prayer for the rulers and authorities. (Not just begrudgingly praying, ‘God you know all about so and so. I pray that you would burn him down where he stands…’ I don’t really think God answers those kinds of prayers.)

3.) Trials and people who deny God and try your patience will be numerous as this old world cruises toward its final oblivion. Be strong.

4.) What seemed outrageous a generation ago now seems to be the order of the day. Immorality of every kind abounds and the “lid is off the pot” as evil lust has its way. Do not be dismayed.

5.) God knows.
