John 6:29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

You can’t walk very long in the forgiveness of Jesus until you begin to hear all sorts of tales about Him and his role in the Church. Men have continually gotten things all twisted up for all the wrong reasons within the boundaries of what has been called “Christendom”. Truth be known most fo our “traditions” come under the category of “rules made by men”.

Sin is very clearly defined in the Old Testament. It is what it is. No amount of bargaining or interpreting can get around that. Forgiveness and restoration to righteousness are clearly the subject of the New Testament. However, the repudiation of sin and repentance of sinners is still very much the hallmark of “believing in th one whom God sent, that’s Jesus in case you didn’t get that.

Hysterical and unfounded “over the fence” gossip about Christians will never unseat truly grounded men and women who love and follow Jesus. Let Hollywood and the University rage all they want to. Let them fill the airways with snide comments until they run out of breath. In the end they will all stand before the judgement seat.
