Isaiah 35: 8 And a highway will be there;
it will be called the Way of Holiness;
it will be for those who walk on that Way.
The unclean will not journey on it;
wicked fools will not go about on it.
9 No lion will be there,
nor any ravenous beast;
they will not be found there.
But only the redeemed will walk there,

I have often seen this image when I’ve read these verses. If one passes through a toll booth, (see Romans 12: 1-2) then certain things are pre-determined for their journey. One expects no opposing traffic on the highway, that is that to the best of their abilities everyone is going the same Way. Some may stall out. Some may crash and burn. Some may willingly choose to exit the highway by whatever means they find. But, for those who persevere, in the end, they arrive at their destination.
Many folks today are not even aware that there is a Way for them to escape the madness of (city) traffic. The busy-ness of the human soul is often at odds with the flow of traffic in their lives and it frequently takes a significant departure from the familiar to find their way to the highway that is called holiness.
