Genesis 4:7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

Did your mom ever say to you, “I can’t leave you alone for five minutes.”? I remember hearing that so many times when I was growing up I began to believe that that was the standard greeting adults had for children. I heard it so often that I stopped associating it with the kind of failure of purpose it was meant to communicate. We have come so far down this road of sin that we have stopped associating the warnings found all throughout the scriptures that are clear, concise, and not open to debate, with the truth that they are an offense to God. There is no such thing as circumstantial (read justifiable) sin. Something either is or is not. I can hear you backpedaling even now.

Why am I writing this today? Because we live in a time when those in power are calling evil good and good evil. A time when any revealing of the truth of God is mocked, squashed, and dismissed out of hand. But, as my old bible professor used to say, “Mark my words…”, there is coming ,perhaps sooner than we can know, a great and terrible “day of the Lord”. It will be a sorting day. Sheep, goats, good fish, worthless fish, saints, sinners, you know what I mean. The great mercy of God in Jesus Christ is here, now, and waiting for you.
