Isaiah 33: Lord, be gracious to us;
    we long for you.
Be our strength every morning,
    our salvation in time of distress.

            This prayer from Isaiah represents one of many times in the scriptures when the enemies of Israel were, or would shortly be encamped around them, threatening, frightening, and besieging them day and night. So, what else was left to a people distressed and worried about tomorrow? Prayer. Very simply the people who had some sort of clue who they were, and whose they were, had been left with but one real option. Prayer. Maybe this defines your life just now. This is probably one of the most honest and straight up prayers we could possibly utter. No pretense, no preamble, just simply, like a child, “Daddy, help me.”

            This much I know; God our heavenly Father hears our prayers through the intercession of our Savior, His son Jesus, and we are led by His Holy Spirit to utter such a prayer at just the right time.

Isaiah 52:10 The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.
