Acts 2: 36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

What transforming power the Holy Spirit has in a person’s life. Peter, widely acknowledged to be rather inconsistent in his faith yet rises to this pinnacle moment of transforming power with sufficient courage, conviction and understanding to lay bare all of the presumptions and hypocrisy of the watching crowd and to bring this bold accusation before them. The effect? “and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” Ibid 41b

So then, where is this power being made manifest today? Is it happening in your life? Do you have the courage to lay bare all of the hypocrisy of the non-believers all around you and to inform them that they are the ones who are crucifying Jesus every day by their unbelief and their profligate lifestyles.

Be assured of this”, Make no mistake about it. This is a reliable statement.

What made the difference in Peter? Very simply the indwelling Holy Spirit of the very person he denied knowing three times. Radical forgiveness, unfathomable love, courage beyond reckoning.
