Proverbs 29:11 Fools give full vent to their rage,
but the wise bring calm in the end.

12 If a ruler listens to lies,    all his officials become wicked.

It doesn’t take very much to provoke some people to rage. Sadly, when I’m tired or in pain I am frequently one of those sad individuals. A continuous grating noise, such as children bickering, and whining can be enough to really set me off. Imagine then, how it must be for the politicians and civic and corporate who are constantly besieged with the interests and needs of other people. It must be horrible to have the jackals from the press lurking everywhere you go waitin for you to slip up and say or do the one thing they are wishing you would do. It doesn’t matter whether you are on one side of the social spectrum or the other, there are always ajckals ready and waiting to chew on the bones of your carcass, angry and raging people are the most vulnerable.

OK, here comes the “So what?”

For the Christian, our communication, once again, should be salted with truth, but also with hope, and always pointing to our redeemer. This is not easy. Our visceral raging contributes nothing to the situation. Rather, bathed in prayer we must seek to communicate our redemptive hope to every person regardless of their response. In so doing we “plant seeds”, the Spirit waters, and the Lord brings in the harvest.
