Psalm 133: How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!

It is like precious oil poured on the head,    running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
down on the collar of his robe.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
    were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
    even life forevermore.

The whole of the New Testament is replete with admonitions to journey toward, seek for find the way to a unity of heart mind soul and body. This is no simple thing to get to. It cannot be all one sided, but likewise it has to start with someone willing to make a sacrifice, an exception. With all of the current blather about critical race theory, “wokeness” this or that type of Supremacy thinking, and every other mudslinging attempt to shame and marginalize people we don’t really care for if we’re honest with ourselves I think it would probably a good time for those of us who follow Christ to re-evaluate our approach to people. Some are very well intentioned. Many are just plain stupid. Our responses to the provocations brought by some of the people promoting what at first blush seem to be very offensive ideas may not be an assault on righteousness as some might believe. Rather, there may just be at the heart of some (certainly not all) a hunger for true justice. How we respond will flow from our true identity.

The Church that my Lord Jesus is building has very little in the way of hurdles or requirements for entering in. First is that you believe in Jesus, the Son of God, that you accept and acknowledge the sufficiency of his life sacrificed on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins providing you with a fresh start if you truly turn away from (repent) of the sinful path you have been walking. From then on you will have entered into the King’s service and family. You will have become a citizen of Heaven and are here on this earth as ambassadors of God’s holy will. The adventure has begun. No barriers, no dividing walls, no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
