Matthew 7:23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

It is perhaps the craftiest of lies perpetrated on an unsuspecting public since the dawn of time. Everywhere we turn, in education and entertainment, in the outworking of our social lives we are being told over and over that righteousness doesn’t matter, that whatever suits you, feels good to you is right for you. In denying the exclusivity of the salvation that is found only in Jesus Christ and promoting the absurd idea that “there are many roads to heaven” we have fallen prey to our cowardly desire to avoid conflict, and to “go along to get along”. We become therefore like Peter in the dooryard of the high priest when he denied knowing Jesus three times. Remember, the bible says “resist the devil and he will flee.” (James 4:7)

Just as in the idea of fisheries which Jesus often used as a metaphor or simile there are superior and inferior fishes. The superior fishes live in clean cool water and are generally preferred over the inferior fishes. Here, I would compare the relative acceptance of brook trout or rainbow trout to Carp or other fishes that languish on the bottom of lakes and rivers. Trout want to exist in clear cool flowing or living water. Carp on the other hand are content to lie on the bottom of the lake or in secluded holes in the river and exist on whatever flows their way.

Yes, Christianity is exclusive. Sinners will not find their way to heaven until and unless they reckon with the man Jesus. For it is out of God’s love that he offered himself to be the perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness and relieving of the punishment for your sins.
