1 Corinthians 1:18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

So, exactly what is the message of the cross? The world revels in its mockery of all things Christian. Christians “take up their crosses” and endure the mockery of the world. Back and forth ad nauseum. So what are we to do?
Look at the life of Jesus. Look at the lives of the apostles including Paul. They faced the scorn, the ridicule, all the while seeking out the ones who just might listen to the message of grace and receive the offer of forgiveness for sins because of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus who is indeed our (only) Christ, our only hope of salvation
Bearing the skepticism and scorn of the world is of little value except that through it we may become more tender hearted and compassionate toward those who are rushing headlong to their doom.
Lord, please give me vision to see what you see
In this sad broken world.
Grant me courage to reach out and touch the
Unclean, the soul lepers of our world today.
Make me an instrument of Your peace and grace.
