John 12: 3 Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

The poorest man in the world receives here the anointing of a rich man for his burial. Poignant, heart rending and yet appropriate. This one act sets Jesus apart forever as the bringer of merciful kindness into the lives of the weakest and most marginalized people of the world. Those who have been used, abused, cast away are all welcome at the feet of Jesus .
The devotion of this woman is seldom understood today as we take for granted the grace and love of God in Jesus our Christ. This ostentatious act wherein she gives literally al that she has to show her love for the one who has forgiven and accepted her as a real person is something we should not dismiss lightly.
We Fall Down
We fall down, We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
And we cry holy, holy, holy
And we cry holy, holy, holy
And we cry holy, holy, holy is the Lamb- Chris Tomlin
