2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
“…to be sin for us…” The way that Jesus stood in my place and took my punishment (and yours) on Himself is the greatest act of mercy ever recorded in history. Make no mistake. This really happened. Beyond all the lore and legend of Easter the simple fact remains that you and I deserve death for our arrogant presumption that we can stand alone without the God who made us and for who’s pleasure we are created.
Why did He do such a thing? Because He loves us. He still loves us even though we delay in receiving His gift he waits like the Father on the hillside waiting for the prodigal to return.
Why keep Him waiting any longer? Call out to Him today and find forgiveness, hope and strength to carry on following in the love of God.
