Hebrews 2:3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.

There it is. The elephant in the room. Absurd? Obvious? Too be sure. It is the unavoidable question that must sooner or later be answered. Pontius Pilate the governor of Judea serving the Roman occupation famously intoned Ecce Homo- “Behold the man” (John 19:5) after reluctantly having had Jesus flogged. Still the crowd shouted, “Crucify Him”. (ibid V.6).

The question remains for you and I to this day. What will you do with this Jesus. Our sins have tortured Him and placed Him squarely in front of us flogged and tortured by our willful callous hearts. Will you fall in with the crowd and shout along with the hate blinded masses, “Crucify Him’?

Just like the elephant in the room you cannot ignore Him once you understand the choice. It is the only choice you can make to avoid the eternal consequences of a life of sin. The “I’m a good person” argument just doesn’t wash. Not even Jesus would call Himself “good” on this side of the veil. Matthew 19: 16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
