Hebrews 10 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

There is a certain comfort gained by repetition, a familiarity that’s based upon our need for certainty. We might laugh at the whole ritualistic dynamic of ancient Israel, but consider for a moment the things we continue to do over and over and then live in expectation that somehow things have changed. This is true in personal health, spiritual health, emotional and relational health. (God bless the ever flowing, overflowing information world we live in.) We are constantly seeking to improve ourselves and almost always failing miserably at what ever we try to give up, add in, or utilize differently.

There is only one person who can bring about the kind of changes we really want. His name is Jesus, and he wants to give you a soul cleansing transformational experience that will bring all of the other impulses of life into line with His Father’s perfect plan for your life. To do this simply offer yourself, everything you are or ever will be to his love, care, and sovereignty.
