Hebrews 4:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[f] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

All that has gone previously speaks to the need to “do something” with this faith we profess. To simply live it honestly, out in the open, giving a reason for our hope. Sometimes this is hard to do. Things that happen in and around us make it difficult to express our joy, our hope, and our certainty of forgiveness. Jesus is always interceding for us in our worst moments of weakness. He is cheering for us before the father. Our weakness can lead us into the temptation of unbelief. Sometimes the thought comes unbidden, “What have you done for me lately Jesus?”
That is precisely the moment to bear down, center down as the old Quakers used to say. To wait upon the Lord. Who knows, He may be leading you into a season of rest.
