I Chronicles 18:1 In the course of time, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Gath and its surrounding villages from the control of the Philistines.

David trusted God. Through his trust in God’s providences David achieved many victories. There are many right now who feel defeated, who feel that “the system” let them down. This is simply not true. A few things to consider:

  1. Trusting in men and organizations is a mistake. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
  2. God is in control not men. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
  3. People will usually tend to “vote” with their stomachs. (John 6:26)
  4. Integrity always seems to have too high a price for most. (Matthew 27:3)
  5. The results are a way in which God communicates his calling to us. (John 5:42-44)

Perhaps now is the time to be on our faces before God, seek his forgiveness for our lukewarm hearts and begin to seriously pray for His guidance in serving Him before a skeptical and angry, and dissipated world. There is yet time for a new awakening. A time of forgiveness, a time of reconciliation, a time of learning to love instead of hate.

If this were a business I’d say it was time for the workers to “punch in” and get busy.
