Isaiah 10:15 Is the axe to boast itself over the one who chops with it? Is the saw to exalt itself over the one who wields it? That would be like a club wielding those who lift it, Or, like a rod lifting him who is not wood. NASB

This verse is a cautionary against those who would exalt themselves or another over the Lord God. We live in a very fame or notoriety driven culture. The most skillful, the most visible, the most outrageous, the most … ad nauseum… behavior captures our minds and hearts for a season until we move on to the next thing. Far too many people have fallen into the trap of “celebrity”, becoming legends in their own minds. At the end of the day God still is.
James reminds us Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (1:17) and Paul advises us ,Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8) And above all give thanks to god.
