Hebrews 1: The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Anyone, who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

John 14:9…Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

1 John 1: 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

I offer these three very telling texts this morning to any who may be sitting on the fence and questioning whether or not it is of any value to believe in and trust in the Lord Jesus. These are but three of the texts in the scriptures that point to the objective truth of who and what Jesus is. He represents the fulfillment of God’s enduring promise to redeem his creation. He is the fullest expression of God’s perfect love. He is the embodiment of God’s purpose here on earth and if you ever fully read the Gospel accounts and the Acts of the apostles you will begin to understand the plan which God has put into action to once and for all accomplish his ends.

Forget for a moment if you will all of the cultural and church baggage which we have allowed to obscure our view of Jesus. While all of that may have been well intentioned at the beginning every human “system” will fail due to outright corruption or the entropy and ennui which unfortunately seems to be our lot in this life.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. In Christ we have a clear glimpse into the heart of the Father. Can you see Heaven from where you are?
